NBA Playoff Predictions

So here are my not so bold NBA playoff predictions:

1st Round: All the favorites except I see a couple potential upsets. I think the Celtics, Mavs, and Denver are all vulnerable.

2nd Round: East: Cavs over Celts. Atlanta over the Magic (toss up).
West: Mavs over Suns. Lakers over Denver.

Conference winners: East = Cavs.
West = Lakers.

Finals winner: Lakers

Barring any injuries, I just don't see how anyone can beat LA in the West. Too deep, too versatile, too experienced, too well-coached.

That said, I think the conf finals will be:

Cleveland over Atlanta (they are on a hot streak, mad athletic, and Joe Johnson wants to make a good final impression before free agency)

LA over Dallas (and Mark Cuban will whine like crazy about the refs, but justifiably)

Lakers over the Cavs.

The celtics are done. Too old and too injured.

Dallas is my sleeper pick to make trouble for the Lakers.

NO WAY LAKERS WIN. NO WAY!

(I picked these before the playoffs started yesterday. And, since it's too easy to pick Cleveland vs. L.A...)

East: Cleveland (1) vs. Chicago (8): Cleveland sweep.
Orlando (2) vs. Charlotte (7): Orlando in 5.
Atlanta (3) vs. Milwaukee (6): Atlanta in 5.
Boston (4) vs. Miami (5): Boston in 7.

Round 2: Cleveland (1) vs. Boston (4): Cleveland in 6.
Orlando (2) vs. Atlanta (3): Atlanta in 7 (with Vince Carter choking and throwing up a shitburger in game 7. God, if you exist and are reading hoboconqueso, please let this happen. And if God is reading this blog, our universe is in some trouble.)

Round 3: Cleveland (1) vs. Atlanta (3): Cleveland in 5.

---

West: Lakers (1) vs. Thunder (8): Thunder will take a game at home.
Dallas (2) vs. San Antonio (7): Dallas in a hard-fought 7.
Phoenix (3) vs. Portland (6): Phoenix in a hard-fought 7.
Denver (4) vs. Utah (5): Denver in 6 (and if I have my games figured out right, this means Denver wins game 6 in Utah).

(Side note: Both 4 vs. 5 series are great matchups).

Round 2: Denver (4) vs. LA (1): Denver in 7. LA chokes in game 7 at home. Also, either Pau Gasol or Andrew Bynum gets injured. JR Smith becomes a superstar in the process and has a monster series playing Kobe Bryant even.
Dallas (2) vs. Phoenix (3): Dallas in 5. Nash and Grant Hill are too tired to keep going, Dallas too deep.

Round 3: Dallas (2) vs. Denver (4): Denver in 6. And as Joe says, Mark Cuban will find some reason why it was unfair that they lost again.

Championship: Cleveland over Denver in 6.
