No Freaking Way!

After watching last night’s draft, it’s clear to me that the Knicks odds of landing Lebron next season are dropping faster than (Ok, removed) in a Teaneck High School hallway (HYHY, that was one of the biggest Joe’s ever btw). So, in answer to the question “Is Lebron coming to New York?” Well, as my dad would say, “No freaking way!”

So, I learned during the draft last night that Miami can sign three max guys. That means, in theory, they can have Wade, Lebron and Amare. Apparently it seems that Lebron and Wade probably won’t play together, but if they decide to, Miami would seem like a good destination. As a side note from the Lebron thing, any combination of Wade plus two of the big free agents (Amare, Lebron, Johnson, Bosh, Nowitski) would equal mad championships with a couple decent role players.

I also learned that Chicago will dump Hinrick and their pick to clear up cap space to sign two max guys. That means that Lebron plus any one of the big free agents above could join the Bulls with: Rose, Noah, Deng, and Gibson.
Now, if I was Lebron, I would go to Miami. I would play with Wade and get either Amare or Bosh to sign on. But, based on something about Lebron and Wade each wanting their own team, this may not happen. So, it appears that Lebron will end up in Chicago.

At this point, New York has little to offer. Miami and Chicago are not bad markets to play in. Yeah, these markets are not New York, but they are much closer to NY than Oklahoma. Plus, Lebron needs to win. New York does not have the cap space to compete with Miami, nor the talent base to compete with Chicago. The odds of landing Lebron seem very unlikely to me. Of course I’m still hoping, but it feels like wishing for Lebron in NY is like wishing that my lottery numbers will produce the winning ticket.

NBA Championship

What a terrific, classic, game 7 to decide the NBA championship.

All the great play aside, my favorite part of the game was Ron Artest. He is the first player ever to thank their psychiatrist in their post-game interview immediately after winning a championship game.

Carnival rides....

...are fun!

There is a carnival set up in our local parking lot shared by Home Depot and Walmart. We took the kids there last night and it is very interesting how different all three of my kids reacted to the rides. Maybe it has something to do with their ages, but mostly I think it's their own individual personalities.

While in most of his daily activities, he's a bit of a wuss, Nicky really enjoyed the rides. He, Thomas and I went on the big boat swing ride. Nicky was into putting his arms up in the air at the peaks of the swings, while Thomas would not let go of the bar. The three of us also went on the ride where you stand with your back against the wall and the ride spins at a great speed while the axis of rotation changes. Alexis stayed away from the bigger rides. The only ride she went on was one of those "teacup" type rides where you sit in the car and you can control the spin of the car by turning the steeringwheel-like device in the center of the car.

One Picture and Two Random Videos

Here is a photo of the last actual Hobo With Cheese I ate at Five-Star. I'd love to somehow embed this into the header of our blog. If anybody wants to work on this, let me know. I tried this once and wasn't successful.

Here is my all-time favorite basketball highlights / music video. I posted this once before and wanted to re-post it in light of Moon's Mike Nurse post and in light of our collective lamenting of the fact that guys aren't as passionate in professional sports as they once were.

Finally, I've had Sirius Radio for a few months now and have been able to listen to Howard Stern before. If you have not been able to make the jump and/or not interested in Howard Stern, here's a taste of song parodies of people sweating Robin Quivers' breasts.
